52: Portland Weather for February 21, 2026

Good morning, it's February Twenty-One, Two Thousand Twenty Six! And it's a Saturday! Here in Portland, Oregon. Well, it is raining. Really raining. That east wind pushing it sideways against the windows, thirteen miles per hour with gusts up to eighteen. You can hear it. Forty-seven degrees Fahrenheit, around eight Celsius. Cloudy, wet, and the Willamette is just this flat gray ribbon down there, taking it all in. Now yesterday we had that frost advisory and the cold snap, and today it's like the rain came to wash all that away. Quarter to half an inch expected today, and then more tonight, dropping to forty-two. Sunday is more of the same. Forty-nine and rain. Southeast wind picking up. I was walking down Hawthorne yesterday afternoon and there is a little bookshop there, Powell's on Hawthorne, the smaller one, and in the window they had a stack of used David Attenborough books. Just a whole pile of them. And I thought, that is a perfect rainy Saturday right there. A book about the natural world, a cup of coffee, and the sound of the rain on the roof. That is Portland doing what Portland does best. Everyone have a great day.
