49: Portland Weather for February 18, 2026

Good morning, it's February Eighteen, Two Thousand Twenty Six! And it's a Wednesday! Here in Portland, Oregon. Looking out the window right now and there are snowflakes coming down. Real snowflakes, the big lazy kind, drifting through the gray morning light. Thirty-three degrees Fahrenheit, around one Celsius. Now we are a couple of degrees away from freezing and that matters today. If the gorge wind whips through the delta this afternoon it could push us the wrong direction and this snow might actually stick. You just never know. This afternoon going up to around forty-one, five Celsius, and the snow should mix with rain by mid-morning. But the gorge has its own ideas about these things. Now there is a little wood-fired pizza shop in town called Gracie's Apizza. One guy, Craig Melillo, runs the whole thing mostly by himself. Makes about seventy ten-inch pies a night. Open Thursday through Saturday, five to eight, and that's it. Seventy pizzas. One man. One oven. There is something I really like about that. A guy who decided exactly what he wanted to do and how much of it he wanted to do and then he just does that. No apologies. If the snow clears by this weekend, go get yourself a pizza.
